These unusual 6mm round phosphosiderite beads are a natural lilac purple with yellow inclusions. The beads contain natural pits and crevices. These beads are well shaped with good drilling.
Phosphosiderite gets its name from its chemical makeup: phosphorus and sidero, the Greek work for iron. Phosphosiderite has a Mohs hardness of 3.5 to 4, which is very soft and could crumble when shaped, so the beads are stabilized to enhance their durability. Beads of this quality are rather rare.
